The Peters Lab received a $502,981 award from the National Science Foundation to explore the basic mechanisms of memory formation.

The grant will be used to:

  • Purchase equipment and tools

  • Hire a research technician

  • Fund undergraduate research

  • Fund undergraduate travel to conferences and national laboratories.

In addition, the grant provides support for the creation of a new course at the University of Richmond in advanced molecular biology.

Altogether, this grant will help train the next generation of scientists in America and will contribute to our understanding of how memories form.
